Introgression of Resistance to Multiple Pathotypes of Plasmodiophora brassicae from Turnip (Brassica rapa ssp. rapifera) into Spring B. napus Canola

چکیده

Clubroot disease resistance has been introgressed from Brassica rapa into canola following different approaches including a B. napus × interspecific cross; however, the details of this cross are not available. To extend our knowledge for introgression to multiple pathotypes, we crossed clubroot-resistant turnip with susceptible and backcrossed F1′s canola. The backcross population was subjected pedigree breeding selection clubroot canola-quality traits; pathotype 3H 3A performed in early advanced generations, respectively. generation lines were also evaluated 3H, 3A, 2B, 5x, field clubroot, agronomic seed quality traits. Following this, developed carrying pathotypes nuclear DNA content similar napus. Resistance showed weak correlation other whereas strong positive 5x indicating that these under genetic control. Thus, results demonstrate can be even when single is generations.

Identification of Novel QTLs for Isolate-Specific Partial Resistance to Plasmodiophora brassicae in Brassica rapa

Plasmodiophora brassicae, the causal agent of clubroot disease of the Brassica crops, is widespread in the world. Quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for partial resistance to 4 different isolates of P. brassicae (Pb2, Pb4, Pb7, and Pb10) were investigated using a BC1F1 population from a cross between two subspecies of Brassica rapa, i.e. Chinese cabbage inbred line C59-1 as a susceptible recurrent ...

Identification and Characterization of Crr1a, a Gene for Resistance to Clubroot Disease (Plasmodiophora brassicae Woronin) in Brassica rapa L.

Clubroot disease, caused by the obligate biotrophic protist Plasmodiophora brassicae Woronin, is one of the most economically important diseases of Brassica crops in the world. Although many clubroot resistance (CR) loci have been identified through genetic analysis and QTL mapping, the molecular mechanisms of defense responses against P. brassicae remain unknown. Fine mapping of the Crr1 locus...

Identificaiton of a clubroot resistance locus conferring resistance to a Plasmodiophora brassicae classified into pathotype group 3 in Chinese cabbage (Brassica rapa L.)

In Chinese cabbage (Brassica rapa), the clubroot resistance (CR) genes Crr1 and Crr2 are effective against the mild Plasmodiophora brassicae isolate Ano-01 and the more virulent isolate Wakayama-01, but not against isolate No. 14, classified into pathotype group 3. 'Akiriso', a clubroot-resistant F(1) cultivar, showed resistance to isolate No. 14. To increase the durability of resistance, we at...

Endosphere microbiome comparison between symptomatic and asymptomatic roots of Brassica napus infected with Plasmodiophora brassicae

Clubroot caused by Plasmodiophora brassicae, is a severe disease of cruciferous crops that causes large hypertrophic galls in the roots. The plant microbiome is important for growth promotion and disease suppression. In this study, using 16S rRNA and internal transcribed spacer (ITS) sequencing techniques, we compared the endosphere microbiome of symptomatic and asymptomatic B. napus roots infe...

Differential Expression of miRNAs in Brassica napus Root following Infection with Plasmodiophora brassicae

Canola (oilseed rape, Brassica napus L.) is susceptible to infection by the biotrophic protist Plasmodiophora brassicae, the causal agent of clubroot. To understand the roles of microRNAs (miRNAs) during the post-transcriptional regulation of disease initiation and progression, we have characterized the changes in miRNA expression profiles in canola roots during clubroot disease development and...
